Refreshing the mind…

OHHH MYYY!!! This class has truly been a blessing! I took Analysis of Form in 1983! LoL…I opted to retake it in order to refresh myself on the importance of this foundation class. πŸ˜› So, I thought I would share what I’ve been working on in class. We’ve covered some really important aspects in drawing. The foundation of drawing is based on good planning…that is what turns a “okay” piece of work into a “wow” piece! Basic shapes, perspective and the study of light are what we’ve covered so far. There is A LOT to be grateful for when one takes a refresher course!!! Those things that you take for granted everyday become oh so apparent, as well as, oh so important! As artists it’s important to remember these core values (pun intended…LoL) and apply them, consciously, to our work. Every. Single. Time!

It’s amazing what you notice when you put the photograph next to your drawing!!! The flaws just jump at you! This is such a great learning tool! Another way to check and measure is to stand in front of a mirror with your piece…you will see just what needs adjusting.
